The US military has now taken over much of where the SOVIET MILITARY (Red Army) left off: killing Afghan civilians relentlessly & remorselessly from un-opposed US air-attacks, and now, via KILLER ROBOTS, arial hunter-drones or remotely piloted UAVs firing 4th & 5th generation missiles & "anti-personnel" munitions, which can easily incinerate or turn into rubble a family home at the push of a button.
For a brief overview on the AIR ATTACKS that were the CORE of the Soviet attempt at OCCUPATION of Afghanistan, see the scenes of Soviet helicopter attacks in the movie "Charlie Wilson's War" - and realize that today, it is AMERICAN pilots & UAV operators who now have that license to KILL ANYTHING THAT MOVES, displacing hundreds of thousands of Afghan civilians fleeing the terror from the skies.
The Matrix of Death: (Im)Precision of U.S Bombing and the (Under)Valuation of an Afghan Life
Only one dollar is officially spent in “reconstruction” for every ten dollars spent on achieving U.S. geo-political aims.

US/NATO bombs kill about ten times more Afghan civilians with a ton of our “precision” bombs than we killed Serbs in 1999. More than 80% of Afghan civilian deaths today caused by the US/NATO are due to close air support attacks. They (Afghans) are only worth one-tenth of an Alaskan sea otter rather than forty camels. We spend ten dollars on the military in Afghanistan to pursue our geo-strategic aims and less than $1 on reconstructing the everyday lives of Afghans devastated by thirty years of war.....
