While at the gym this morning, we saw another blow-dried, coiffed-to-perfection talking head DC insider - in this case Republican House Minority 'leader' John Boehner - smugly discussing "Health Care reform" with CNN 'news' host John King.
Without even listening to the discussion, we KNOW that Mr. King was conducting a flacid, incomptent interview, because Minority leader Boehner was SMUG and impassive throughout the interview.
(In _typical_ media whore fashion) We can even bet that CNN John NEVER EVEN ASKED Boehner "ARE THERE ANY BIG PROBLEMS with the current 'for profit' Health Care system?" much less the FOLLOW UP QUESTIONS about INDUSTRY PROFITS, double-digit RATE INCREASES, DECLINED COVERAGE, DENIED CLAIMS, and all the other aspects of the US "health delivery" system that is making it a NIGHTMARE for MILLIONS of American families.
Thanks to CNN & their sychophantic "courtier to the aristocracy" anchor John King, Boehner was able to wrap up his interview looking unperturbed and impassive, not even a drop of sweat to betray any effort at answering tough questions.
As if that wasn't bad enough... THE VERY NEXT CNN segment was about... the effort to combat the swine flu by THE GOVERNMENT producing and distributing the H1N1 vaccine!

discuss HEALTH CARE, while PRETENDING that there is a MAGIC LINE between the "PROFIT FIRST" system, and ALL Americans DEPENDING ON, DEMANDING the US government to STEP IN on REALLY important things... like DEFENDING THE NATION, defending YOUR FAMILY and neighborhoods across the country, against a possible pandemic or deadly swine-flu epidemic??
Mr. King, YOU were PAID TODAY, to LIE and MISINFORM Americans about the NEED for GOVERNMENT ACTION where "private industry" can NOT POSSIBLY take responsibility (determining which vaccines to get to the public, and overseeing production and distribution of enough vaccines to those who need them), much less the DIRE NEED of MILLIONS of Americans for a PUBLIC, government, Medicare-type "option" to PRIVATE health care, which millions of Americans can not afford if they have been laid off, or if they have a serious illness, or have a genetic predisposition (such as for diabetes) that requires expensive treatment.
