Washington Whore Post BURIES the lede, "Cheney considers 2007 to be the year of Iran..." the WAR, that is.

While this CorrentWire.com link is more of a 'blog' than a "mainstream media news story," we here at MediaWhoresUSA welcome the effort to EXPOSE the "major media's" techniques at CONFUSING and DISINFORMING the American public.

Namely, by using the tried-and-true basics of PROPAGANDA through the centuries:
#1. accentuate your positives
#2. minimize your negatives (for example, any atrocities your side does that might proke a reaction by 'enemy')
#3. accentuate your enemy's negatives
#4. minimize your enemy's positives.

One author, we wish we could cite chapter & verse, wrote of the self-destruction of Yugoslavia under "The Black Prince of Serbia" Milosovic: "It is impossible for Americans to understand how Yugoslavians degenerated to the point where they would willingly kill and terrorize even those (of other faiths/nationalities) married into their own families, unless you think of American TV as being taken over by the KKK, and reporting on nothing but atrocities by Blacks and other non-whites against halpless white victims 24-7-365."
By this basic, centuries-old PROPAGANDA technique, Slobodan Milosovic turned tens of thousands of Serbs into willing (or terrorized and silent) accomplices to terror and ethnic cleansing. And in the Serb's defense, almost ONE MILLION (800,000 is the average figure) Serbs having died at the hands of Hitler's Nazi invasion, Croat (Catholic) occupation and fierce partisan war 1941-1945, the Serbs have a hell of a lot more justification for resentment than the awful editors of the United States' "papers of record."

In the case of stolen elections, pre- 9-11 incompetence, the farcical 9-11 Commission, the crony-incompetent FEMA response to New Orleans disaster; the lies-to-Iraq-war, the FAILURE to capture Osama bin Laden, the torture scandal and the massive fraud scandals of the Iraq occupation - the main technique of the US media powerhouses is to OMIT as much information as possible, DISTRACT the "news" lede to "blond bombshell dies in hotel room!" stories; and, when your role as "paper of record" for either the nation or the nation's capitol demands that you write SOMETHING factual, BURY THE REAL NEWS WA-AY DEEP in the paper.. preferably page A-18, or even 2, 3 pages deep in the "B" (business) and "C" (local news) sections where almost no one will ever see it....

....and, of course, BURY YOUR REAL HEADLINES 15 paragraphs into the confusing and misleading story.

Sweet Jeebus, did WaPo’s Karen DeYoung bury the lead on this page A18 story, or what? After the misleading headline:

"U.S. Keeps Pressure on Iran But Decreases Saber Rattling"

and the innocuous lead:

"Defense Secretary Robert M. Gates insisted again Friday that, despite persistent reports to the contrary circulating in Washington and around the world, the United States is not planning military action against Iran."

and one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, ten paragraphs down we get to the meat of the story:

Some senior administration officials still relish the notion of a direct confrontation. One ambassador in Washington said he was taken aback when John Hannah, Vice President Cheney’s national security adviser, said during a recent meeting that the administration considers 2007 “the year of Iran” and indicated that a U.S. attack was a real possibility. Hannah declined to be interviewed for this article.

I mean, sure, that’s just Cheney’s view—

Cheney, the loon who’s running the whole f***ing government under a truly bizarre Constitutional theory that the Office of the Vice President is a fourth branch of government, and so not subject to the constraints [of] — say, the War Powers Act, or the power of the purse—placed on the executive branch.

Wake up and smell the bloody KoolAid, Karen! WTF!

NOTE Wouldn’t be simpler, all around, to airdrop Cheney into Teheran and have him shoot the Iranian’s Supreme Leader in the face?
