Could CHRIS MATHEWS really be THAT STUPID?
Could he truly be THAT SYCOPHANTIC?
Could he truly be that incompetent, unawares, ill-informed, and (to repeat ourselves) STUPID, and STILL be considered a "Media PROFESSIONAL"?
In the "Grand Canyon was made just 6,000 years ago - and we can force professional park service geologists and rangers to say so!" through-the-looking-glass era that is America 2007, apparently so.
Conservatives - in religious institutions, in big business, in government - can WITHHOLD FAMILY PLANNING funding that will saves THOUSANDS upon MILLIONS of lives of children and infants and innocents across the world - children who die of PREVENTABLE malaria and dysentery because major pharmaceutical corporations WITHHOLD their precious PATENTED drugs (to extract American-level profits from poverty-stricken natives - often for drugs created by US government research); Conservatives can WITHHOLD sexual education and anti-AIDS programs because the State Department is a SLAVE to the Bush administration's Right-Wing toadies (who, we learned this past week,, have engaged in $300-hour escort-services prostitutes in the comfort of luxury DC hotels); conservatives WITHHOLD sex education and sexually-transmitted disease prevention (STD) funding here in America because "ABORTION IS A SIN akin TO MURDER!" - (Even though "god" - the creator - has been killing children and infants by the score due to natural and violent causes since the dawn of humanity.)
Well, the answer to how such right-wing reactionary LUNACY is now COMMONPLACE in America, the nation that, more than any other nation, benefited from the great leaps in science and technology that wrecked havoc on most of the rest of the industrialized world - (most of Europe, China, and Japan, and much of Asia and North Africa, were laid waist by the industrialized bombs and guns of WWII, including the V2 rockets that slammed London and Antwerp, and the A-bombs that incinerated Hiroshima and Nagasaki.) -
- the best illustration of how such religious, reactionary, self-righteous, 'moral values' INSANITY is now commonplace and taken as THE NORM or standard in America today, is contained in these grotesquely STUPID quotes by CHRIS MATHEWS, uttered by the sputtering Mathews in an especially, grotesquely sycophantic moment just short of four years ago today:
